Planning an escape should be a fun process. Whether it’s a romantic getaway for two or a girls’ weekend, the only thing you should worry about is how you will fit all your awesome adventures in such a short time. This is often not the matter however, and this type of trip can actually be very stressful if you don’t plan well. Hopefully, the following three tips should help relieve this frustration and provide a stress-free break.

1. Choose your hotel wisely

Many people see hotels as just a place to rest their heads, but on a luxury vacation, it’s much more than that! This will have an effect on your entire experience, and nowhere is this more true than in the Niagara Region. There are many hotels in Niagara Falls, but only Marriott hotels offer stunning views of the falls to accompany the sumptuous beds that you never want to leave.

You should always take a look around the various hotels in the area well in advance of when you want to go there. On the one hand, this means that you are more likely to get the room you want for the price you want, while there is less demand, but on the other hand, if you book from another country, you will lock in the exchange rate.

2. Book tickets for excursions in advance

As with booking hotels, you should always plan in advance the tours and excursions you want to do. Firstly, because you have all the disappointments of not found something that you cared about, but secondly, because it is an important stress reliever! You have your route fully planned and ready to go so that there are no arguments.

Whether it’s a food tour, the trip behind the falls or a helicopter tour, many of these types of reservations can be made through the hotel, so the best thing to do is to talk to the staff before you arrive.

3. Know where things are, know what to take

While it’s nice to explore a new area when you get there, it’s a good idea to research an area before you arrive. If you have excursions where you need to meet at a specific destination point, be sure to check how far from your hotel it is located. Or instead, you can visit the popular butterfly Sanctuary during your stay in Niagara, in which matter you will need to draw up a walking route. Another tip is to look on local forums in order to spot hidden gems that tourists don’t normally visit.

You also need to take a detailed look at the excursions you are going on and decide what to take with you. For example, hiking boots are an absolute must if you are going on a whitewater hike, as are raincoats.
